Here are some pictures of the treasure trove of information in the side vestibule of the Chiesa Madre  in Calatafimi.  During our trip of February, 1999, we located Father Scavurzo and he kindly agreed to show us the registers of the baptisms and marriages to find the location of the entry of the oldest known ancestor of the Vultaggio clan in Calatafimi.

Here is the bookcase with the registers.  They go back to the 1500's.
 

Father Scavurzo took out the register which spanned the years 1564-1610 and looked through to find the marriage record.
